Need some help with your challenges in life?

I’m sure you agree that we can learn a lot from various books that have been written to help us with the challenges we face in our lives.

But we always want to know if the authors of such books have had any experiences just like ours. That way we will have an idea if their suggestions and their teachings are going to be truly helpful in our particular situation…

It is therefore important to know at least a little about the lives of such authors. What is their underlying belief system in life? Where did they receive their education and training? What problems in life have they faced, and overcome? Do they live what they teach, and practice what they preach? 

This is the reason why the first book Don has written is his autobiography, entitled “IN HIS HANDS”. 

Don writes in the beginning of his book: “This book is really not only about me, because much of what is written includes Lorraine, my wonderful wife of over fifty years…”

This book includes many wonderful stories, but there are also several things referred that were quite difficult to write about. However the purpose of this book is not just to tell glowing stories, but  also to illustrate how the Lord can use ‘average people’ (like Don and Lorraine) to bless many people. You will read how we went through all kinds of situations, and how the Lord proved Himself to always be faithful, lovingly merciful, and the giver of many wonderful gifts.

If life were to be viewed as a tapestry, what would such a tapestry reveal about your life? What does the tapestry of my life tell you? This is the essence of this book – not only a look at the beautiful front side, but also a look on the backside – the side that makes the front side look so good.

God is at work in the lives of us all, whether we recognize this or not. Many very popular and strategic people, both in our world today and in history, are great examples of this. But what about the ‘average person’? Are they important and/or significant in God’s universal plan of everything?

What if a person, instead of living according to God’s plan, leaves God out of their lives and follows their own desires? Does God care? Is there any way people can get out of such a rut if they wanted to? 

I trust some of the highlights I’ve chosen to share with you in this book will be a help to you, wherever you are at this time in your life. And, I trust you’ll be encouraged to follow God’s guidance and plan for your life, so that you too can experience the joy and satisfaction there is in being like ‘clay in the Potter’s hands’.
