Which of these two men will characterize you…?
There was once two boys who were adopted into a very rich family. Both received a good education, and left home to embark on their lives, based upon what they had been taught.
One of these men applied himself well to what he had learned, and lived what we’d call a very good upper middle-class life. But the other man had many doubts, and set aside much of what he had been taught in his early years to take advantage of many of life’s rich and enticing pleasures. And due to several very unfortunate circumstances, and his rather rebellious attitude, he ended up a derelict on skid-row.
Then one day the couple who had years ago adopted these boys (now men) died, and in their wills left each of these men a million dollars, and the adjudicators of their wills went searching for these two men.
When the man on skid-row was found, he was drunk, feared life itself, and near death… He was told of his inheritance, but simply could not believe it to be true… And died a disenchanted person.
The other man before he had even received any money…, immediately went out and ordered a tailor made suit, and a first class ticket to travel to the ‘seven wonders of the world’ – which he had longed to see, but had been unable to afford.
As we look back on the lives of these two men, we see they had both been separated from their real parents, but were lovingly adopted into wonderful family, and had been well-educated.
The difference between these two men was what they believed to be true, and how they acted upon receiving the information about their inheritance…
The question is which one of these men characterize your life?
You, me, and everyone else can in some way relate to being separated from ‘the perfect family’ – if there ever was one. In any case, we can all look back on our lives and deep in our hearts, wish things had been better…
The good news is that love and education, if taken advantage of, can change our lives for the better. In this regard, my books have been written because I have a loving concern for every reader, and I wish to impart to you knowledge and wisdom – that if you will apply these to your life, will make your life so much better.
The critical point therefore is, not where you may be in your life at this time, but rather will you take the time to read these books, and will you make the effort to apply what you learn to your situation?
It’s like in the story above, there is a ‘treasure’ waiting for you; and which of these two men will characterize your life? Will you ‘believe to be true’ what you read, (after your own personal evaluation of course), and will you ‘act appropriately’ upon the good news you are about to receive?
Lastly, don’t end your life in fear, or as a disenchanted person. Because you can find the answers to life you are looking for, and the life you long to live – a life full and rich with excitement and purpose.
