Don was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Following high school he attended a Bible School in Chicago. In 1967 he married his wife Lorraine and together they have three grown children.
As a family they have lived in Vancouver, Rossland, Trail and Kelowna, British Columbia; and in Calgary, Alberta. In 2000, Don and Lorraine moved to San Diego, then on to Loreto, B.C.S., Mexico in 2004 where they lived for eighteen years, before retiring to live in Arizona, USA.
Don and Lorraine have enjoyed serving the Lord in each of these communities, as well as being involved in missionary endeavors in Western and Eastern Europe for a few years, and then in Mexico for over twenty years.
Don began his tenure with Mexican Medical Inc. in 1998 as Administrator and Director of Development; and in his first year established Mexican Medical Ministries in Canada. Don continued for several years assisting and organizing the home office of Mexican Medical Ministries in San Diego; in addition to managing the operations and activities of Healing & Hope International and P. & S. Ministries Society in Canada.
For over 18 years, Don and Lorraine were Missionaries in Loreto, Baja California Sur, Mexico — serving the Mexican churches of Loreto, and reaching out from there to many of the towns, villages and cities in Baja Sur. Together they have been heavily involved in organizing and conducting evangelistic Community Health Fairs throughout Baja Sur for over fifteen years; and have ministered in the Prisons for over ten years. They have had individuals and church teams from the USA and Canada assist them in these ministries over the years, but most of these outreaches have been conducted primarily with local Christian Mexican volunteers. In addition to these ministries among the Spanish speaking population, they also worked for over ten years to establish a church in Loreto for the English-speaking community.
October 28, 2017 was a special day for Don and Lorraine – it was their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary. Friends came from Canada, the US and from several parts of Mexico to join with them for four days of celebrations. It was a remarkable time, honoring God for all He has done in and through their lives. On the last evening of these celebrations Don announced he was in the process of writing his first book, his autobiography to be titled, “In His Hands” – with the promise of other books to follow.
